Product Care

All Cromia handbags are constructed according to purely traditional principles, highlighting the natural characteristics of the leather obtained from adult animals raised in free grazing conditions. This means that all of the signs of their “natural life” are visible, such as deep veins, scars, grain-related blemishes, and variations in the nature and shading of the grain. These characteristics, when combined with the fact that leather is sensitive to scratches, scuffs and the presence of stretch marks, must not be seen as flaws, but rather as fundamental aspects of the natural state of leather that make your Cromia handbag unique, authentic and individual.

There are, however, some things that you can do to make sure that your Cromia piece remains looking as new:

  • When not in use, store your Cromia handbag in its Cromia dust bag in a cool, dry place, and away from heat.
  • Do not store your Cromia handbag in plastic as this may cause the leather to sweat, and avoid storing your handbag under pressure, which could cause indentations and other deformities in the leather.
  • Visit a leather care specialist or a show repairer and purchase a leather protector and cleaning product most appropriate for your Cromia handbag. Make sure you follow the manufacturer's specific instructions for use of these products as Cromia does not guarantee their effectiveness.
  • Take extra care when wearing light-coloured pieces, particularly with denim and other dark materials, as these pieces are prone to absorbing other dyed material.
  • Avoid contact with rain and water, but if your bag does get wet, dry it immediately with a soft cloth.
  • Use a soft, non-scratch cloth to polish chains, buckles and other metal embellishments as required.
