The Cromia Story
Cromia was born in Tolentino, Le Marche, Italy’s most famous leather craft hub, of a history stretching back to 1963. It is the culmination of the work of Germano Sciamanna, who started his family leather production business in 1963 after 13 years’ experience working for Nazzareno Gabrielli, one of the three major companies making Le Marche famous since the mid-1900s.
The Sciamanna family’s design and production ethos was such that it piqued the interest of Gianni Versace, who in 1981 commissioned to the Sciamanna family the production and distribution of leather accessories for women. This fundamental partnership introduced the Sciamanna expertise to the world.
Cromia, born in 2003, is the realisation of the Sciamanna family dream - the dream of creating their own brand and continuing the long and ancient tradition of Italian leather craft.
Today, the Sciamanna family still manufactures accessories for many luxury designer fashion houses, but seeks to give its own life to modern and evolutionary Italian style through Cromia.
Each Cromia piece is designed and made in Italy by a passionate team committed to bringing cutting edge style to the world through accessories comprised of only the finest materials.
In a world dominated by conformity and mass production, the unmistakable essence of Cromia empowers women all over the world to express their individual style through unique and playful designs expressed through a medley of colours, materials, and sophisticated embellishments - all finished with an attention to detail that demonstrates the uncompromising quality that Cromia is known for all over Europe and beyond.
